What do butterflies have to do with income taxes?

Since launching our business many have asked us “Why Monarch”?

Our company name was chosen to honor the memory of our nephew, Gabriel, who passed away from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) at 6 months of age and to give us a platform to raise awareness of this heartbreaking disease.

During the three months between his diagnosis and his death CureSMA, an organization that works with SMA families, provided Gabriel’s parents with exceptional education and support. The spring after he passed they hosted a walk to help raise money for SMA research in Philadelphia. As we walked along the route there were pictures and information about those who had been lost to this disease in the previous year, including our little Gabriel. At the end of the walk, each family who had lost a loved one was given a box of butterflies to set free. This symbolic act of letting go has given butterflies a very special place in the hearts of our family.

As part of our business plan, we wanted to incorporate a way for clients and friends to easily contribute to the ongoing support provided by CureSMA and the research done by the SMA Foundation.

We hope that you will consider making a donation in Gabriel’s name.
